THE REGULATION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION - PAIA and POPI

The Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) came to effect to help you exercise your rights and protection of your personal information. The law allow you to access information that is kept and stored by a private or public body.
 
The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI) gives you constitutional right to privacy of your personal information which is processed and held by any private or public body. As required by law, we have outlined and attached our PAIA Manual below that help and guide you about how to access information, which information we collect, what information we share, and how information is used.

You can contact us to request access to information by following the procedure set out by the law according to legislation and PAIA. We take reasonable measures to secure information related or linked to you. Security is required to protect you from authorized use of your personal information.

To Access and request information use the below guide to start with the process.
The request form is attached to the Aveade Group PAIA Manual. Please note that all Aveade Group customers are allowed access to their own information without having to use the request for access to information procedure as set out in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, including, but not limited to:

  • Account information
  • Personal records
  • Records of email correspondence

A request made for access to any information other than that specified above, any information of another buyer or seller or any information in terms of the POPI Act, must be made in accordance with the access to information procedure as set out in the Promotion of Access to Information Act.
 
You may contact us to request access to your own information. (Please note that there may be administration costs associated with the retrieval of certain types of information.)
 
 
PROTECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
 
Registered users may lodge a complaint to the Information Regulator in the event of any interference with the protection of your personal information. We will grant access to information to comply with the law, to protect your rights or any other matters that does not violate the right of others, or prohibit the law from taking its course, or causing harm as set out in more details in our PAIA manual. Kindly note that we may deny access to some information according to our own business regulations and legislature.

We will follow all the relevant channels when processing your application to access information held by us. The PAIA are made available for digital download and can also be requested from our head office by any member of the public body
